Kali’s Story

Before joining Teamwork Trust, Kali spent much of her time at home. Anxiety made going out and facing unfamiliar situations overwhelming. Since starting at Teamwork Trust, she has made friends, met like-minded people and found a place where she feels valued and supported.

Kali recently began her volunteering placement, and this is what she has to say:

“I enjoy working on the cash register – it feels important, and I like keeping the shop organised. The people I work with are kind and supportive, and the customers are friendly. Volunteering has given me more confidence and skills.”

Looking ahead, Kali hopes this volunteering journey will lead to a paid role in retail.

“I’d like to work on Saturdays and hopefully get more training on the till. My goal is to secure a job in retail and start saving for the future.”

At Teamwork Trust, Kali is taking positive steps towards independence and achieving her ambitions.

Norman’s Story

Norman attends Teamwork Trust twice a week and has enjoyed taking part in outsourcing work. Although there is less of this available now, he is eager to do more and has a strong desire to work.

Speaking about his volunteering experience, Norman says:

“I enjoy spending time with the Clients at Age UK, I help them and this makes me happy. I feel more confident. I want to move on as I think I would be good at other jobs.”

Looking ahead, Norman is determined to build a future through work.

“All I want to do is work and doing the volunteering and work training will help me to work towards that goal. I’m very eager to work and get paid work. I want to prove I can do it.”

At Teamwork Trust, Norman is gaining confidence, skills, and support to move closer to employment.

Paul's Success Story

Paul's Story

Paul has attended Teamwork Trust for many years. He enjoys being part of the community and getting involved, though sometimes finding the right place for him has been a challenge.

Volunteering has given him the chance to try something new.

Reflecting on his experience, Paul shares:

“At first, I was worried about starting the Volunteering. I was worried and didn’t know what to expect. The staff were friendly and put me at ease. I like to sit and enjoy the company of the clients at Glamis. It makes me feel great and more confident. I feel great when I’m helping others and making sure they have all they need.”

Looking ahead, Paul hopes to continue volunteering and building his independence.

“I would like to continue to go to Glamis and meet new people. I would like to be able to go independently to help with different things, it’s a lovely place to be.”

At Teamwork Trust, Paul is growing in confidence, finding joy in helping others, and looking forward to new opportunities.
